WE ARE RESPONSIBLE

 

In preparation for today’s PADKOS I was looking up the meaning of the word responsible and was surprised at what I found, because it means:

·     Accountable	·     In Control	·     Liable	·     Blameable
·     Answerable	·     In Charge	·     Guilty

It got me wondering how many of us really appreciate the following:

• We are responsible for our actions.
• We are answerable for our lifestyle.
• We are in control of what we think.
• We are in charge of what we believe.
• We are accountable for our behaviour.
• And finally, we are liable for the consequences of all of the above.

If you are pondering how and why this affects you, let us turn to the beginning, The Book of Beginnings in which it tells us:

Genesis 1:26
And God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the fowl of the air, over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” KJV	Then God said, “Let Us make mankind in Our image, in Our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” NIV

This verse has been the death knell of evolution because here we are told by God Himself that He created man and that He created man in His own image, after His own likeness. This is why those who choose to believe that we evolved from a soup-like mixture over billions of years will NEVER find any evidence of evolution.

This verse tells us of a Divine counsel of creation taking place, because God says, “Let Us make…” God is holding a counsel with God the Son and God the Spirit. He has not discussed the creation of anything else, because He does not intend to have fellowship with the animals, etc. Everything was created after his kind but not so with man, who was created after God. There was a pre-existing mould for man, who was made in the likeness and image of God.

Man is God’s responsibility and the animals are man’s responsibility.

If you are wondering how all this fits in with our subject title of today, consider that God created us and INSTILLED in us a knowledge of Him and of right and wrong. His spirit is in every person on earth! His Word is for everyone and is so laid out as to feed the soul and not just the mind.

Mankind has chosen to go his own way and ignore God. He has even chosen to invent and cultivate other belief systems which have taken him far away from The Word of God, but God demands that we face the fact of our being. We are responsible for doing this. No one else in the whole world can do this for us! Furthermore, it is not good enough to hide behind false and bogus religions because God has made us responsible creatures and will hold us accountable for what we do, the way we think, behave and live our lives. These days we are expected to have:

• Knowledge about many things.
• Opinions about everything and anything.
• And convictions about nothing.

My sincere prayer is that you will seriously consider your position before The Creator of Heaven and Earth and that you will invite Him into your life before it is too late.
