FRAGMENTS FROM THE MASTER’S TABLE

HE SET MY FEET ON A ROCK

I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man that maketh the Lord his trust. Psalm 40:1-4

This is an interesting portion of Scripture and worth a closer look.
For instance, there are two important words that spring out as you read it.

  1. Wait
  2. Patience

Those who wait patiently for the Lord will be rewarded.
He will hear our cry and bring us out of the trials we are experiencing.
Faith in God will help us to be patient and wait on Him, and we can rest assured that He knows about our need.
Patience is something everybody needs to learn, because most of us are not born with it, and we must never forget that answers to our prayers may take time.

So, we wait with patience.
These two words are ALWAYS connected.
They are joined together.

Sinners who have come to Christ and have repented of their sins have their feet set upon a rock and are given an example to follow. Believers are not left to find their own way. God has promised to shape and mould our circumstances and put us on a path of praise and thanksgiving.
How wonderful to have someone help us in the situation’s life throws at us and to have our path confirmed and endorsed by the Creator Himself.

Up until the time we invited the Saviour in to our lives we were tossed about with every conceivable care, sin and worry, and now, because of what Jesus did on the Cross at Calvary, we can face life with:

  • A new song in our hearts.
  • Praise and worship of God our Father.
  • And a reason for living.

Oh, what a thrill it is living for Jesus!
If you have not discovered the Saviour and allowed Him to fill your hearts and minds with joy and thanksgiving, come to him now, whilst there is still time.

  • Allow Him to lift you out of the horrible pit.
  • Allow Him to set your feet on Him – our Rock!
  • Allow Him to establish your goings!
  • Allow Him to put a New Song in your mouth!
