CHRIST IS THE ROSE AND THE LILY

This book represents The Last Will and Testament of Virginia Ross, who with her late Husband Archie, spent 42+ years on the Mission Field in Africa. It has been beautifully illustrated by Ellen Doyle of Cape Town, South Africa and contains quotations from C. H. Spurgeon. This is what Virginia has to say: I have been a Christian since I was 18 years old. I am now 99. If you are surprised, so am I!!

I never expected to live this long, so I have been a Christian for 80+years!! At the beginning of my Christian life I had the mistaken idea that God chose me because I was religious. I slowly began to realise this façade was to cover up a very evil heart and that God had chosen me because I was the weakest in my family. Then only He would get the glory in transforming me into the image of Christ.

This was my first lesson in the Christian life. In me, that is in my flesh, there dwelleth no good thing. My second lesson came from the death of my Mother. All my life I mourned for her love until I found Christ. Then I found a Mother’s love. In the providence of God, He gave me a Mentor who taught me my second lesson, In Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

Many Christians will serve the Lord, but few will love Him just for Himself. My Mother set a perfect example of what it is to love Jesus heart, mind and soul.
