AN ENTRANCE AND AN EXIT

Genesis 3:1

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made… KJV

Now the snake was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made… NIV

The Serpent enters into the world in the 3rd Chapter of Genesis at the beginning of the Bible and exits in the 3rd Chapter of Revelation from the END of the Bible. The first two Chapters are occupied with the old creation of which God said:

Genesis 1:31

Behold it was very good. KJV

And it was very good. NIV

From the very beginning when the serpent caused Adam and Eve to sin against God, Satan has had rule over the whole world. He has been there all the time influencing billions of souls to turn away from the truth and embrace hell itself. Even though God has provided a way out, man has largely ignored the message and has continued to live without any reference to his Creator, and yet when there is calamity in his life he fails to see his own hand in it and sees fit to shake a fist at God and blame Him for everything. The Bible calls him a fool.

The man is a fool who defends himself against all that’s good while letting his guard down in the presence of all that’s bad. This is the state of the man who can find a thousand excuses for feeding his mind with the husks that this world’s swine eat while studying to avoid the call of the Word of God to come and dine at the King’s Table which is richly spread.

Jim Elliot said:  He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.

God’s Word speaks of a New World and a New Creation and He has told us about this in the last 2 Chapters of His Word to us:

Revelation 21:5

Behold I make all things new. KJV

I am making everything new! NIV

There is coming a time when the old shall pass away and the new Covenant will replace the old. There will be a new heaven and a new earth. Anything that is new shows that there was first something else that became old.

  • The new Covenant replaced the old Covenant.
  • The new nature replaces the old nature.
  • The new heavens and earth will replace the old heavens and earth.

Everything that God has for us in the Bible that is new is Spiritual, everything that is old is Material or Physical or is linked with these. The new birth has to do with the new creation and the new man, just as the old birth has to do with the old creation and the old man.

The new has to do with the last Adam and how He came into the world, as the old has to do with the first Adam and how he came into the world.

Our new birth has to do with putting away the old self. Old things are passed away and with Jesus all has become new, because He removed our transgressions from us that He might not have to remove us for our transgressions. Put your trust in the Saviour today, don’t put it off, you may never have another opportunity like this again.
