THE LAST DAYS

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent (lacking self-restraint),  fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

I don’t know about you but these verses, which were written about A.D. 64, are describing mankind today, and what’s more it is doing so with frightening accuracy and in a loud voice which is unmistakable, given what we see happening around us. Never before has man loved himself more. Never before have we witnessed wholesale blasphemy in newspapers and on Television and in common everyday speech, even amongst our young people. Never before have there been so many who are unthankful and proud and who deny what the Holy Scriptures teach, mocking and ridiculing the Bible, as they do, at every opportunity.

I would go so far as to say that the love of pleasure is all consuming in a world bent on having a good time, rather than finding out what God would have us do with our spare time. Sadly though there is a day of reckoning to come which will divide the wheat from the chaff.

There is an absolute certainty surrounding God’s Holy Word, which is not present in man’s idea of who and what to worship with the Scriptures making it very plain, that in the last days, man will turn his back on his Creator to go his own way and will ultimately have to pay a terrible price for doing so.

To those who are thinking seriously about getting right with God before it is too late, you would do well to consider that Salvation is the work of God for man: It is NOT the work of man for God and when led of the Spirit, the child of God must be as ready to wait as to go, and as prepared to be silent as to speak.

Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.

Are you prepared?
