DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally and without reservations or faultfinding, and it shall be given unto him. But it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering, hesitating or doubting. For a person who wavers is like a wave of the sea, tossed and driven hither and thither and blown by the wind.
James 1:5-6
There is no doubt whatsoever that man is lacking wisdom in today’s world. We are driven this way and that way, tossed to and fro and bounced from one crisis to another as if we are a wave in the sea. Political parties spend an enormous amount of time, money and energy in trying to convince us that they are right and that others are wrong. Opinions are dime a dozen and everybody has one, and yet what is blatantly obvious and unashamedly transparent is that there is an almost complete lack of leadership and wisdom, which leaves everyone wondering what to do and what to think regarding the issues of life. It has become so serious that many have given up, and actually refuse to even think any more.
So what do we do about it?
Our verse from the Holy Bible today gives us a clue.
James the half-brother of Jesus did not believe in the Lord Jesus, which is hard to comprehend given that he grew up with Jesus and obviously witnessed many of the miracles performed by Him. But the Saviour sowed the seed of the Word of God slowly and patiently and this eventually took root in James and a wonderful transformation took place, so much so that James ceased wavering and became a believer in the one true God and what’s more he was not afraid to tell the world.
This too, can happen to you. If you find yourself wavering, being thrown from one side to the other in life, never quite knowing what to do or what to think, then take God at His Word and ask Him for the wisdom only He can give. Stop trying to solve the problems of life using your own judgment and understanding.
My prayer for you is that you will seek Jesus whilst He may be found, and that you will ask Him to take control of your life.
