OH THE LOVE THAT DREW SALVATIONS PLAN, OH THE LOVE THAT BROUGHT IT DOWN TO MAN!

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

This is Love that passes all understanding. A love so profound that Jesus gave up His life so that we may have life. He willingly bore our sins on the Cross of Calvary so that we might appear before God just as if we had not sinned. When God looks at us He sees Jesus, who knew no sin. Jesus had to become sin for us. This is why God had to forsake His only Son when He became sin for us because God could not look on sin. And when this happened, about the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice saying:

Eli, Eli, la-ma sabach-tha-ni? 

God withdrew from His Son!

God is not willing that any should perish, but have everlasting life with Him. It is a free gift! But, and there is a big but.

It does not mean that everyone is saved.

A person must want to receive, believe and trust what Christ has done for him before receiving eternal life. There is therefore no need for anyone to perish. A way has been provided by which all might be saved.

There are exactly 25 words in this verse and right in the centre is the word SON.

It is only fitting, therefore, that He should be at the centre of our lives!
