TWO ROADS
The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
Proverbs 15:24
I go to prepare a place for you. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
John 14:2,4
Our verses of Scripture for today tell us there are 2 roads and 2 destinies for mankind. What must be borne in mind is that since the sin of disobedience in the Garden of Eden, man has chosen the road on which he wants to travel, of this there is no doubt. The world is full to bursting of accounts of man’s travels without His Creator. The very fact that there is so much death and destruction, wickedness and deceit bares out man’s relentless disregard for the wisdom of the wise. Those who have chosen Christ and are prepared to follow Him at all costs, know the Peace that passes all understanding and they can indeed echo the words of the Psalmist when he says:
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Psalm 16:11
Our second verse speaks of the mansions in Heaven that have been set aside for those who have placed their trust in the Saviour and they tell us 3 things:
-
The Place – Whither I go ye know.
- The Path – And the way ye know.
- The Preparation – I go to prepare.
Jesus is telling His disciples that He is going to prepare a place for them and that they know the way to Heaven because He had taught them which road to take many times before, and that He is coming back again to take them to be with Him.
It also tells us that there is room for everyone!
- Provision is being made for EVERY child of God.
- There is a prepared place for a prepared people.
The road you decide to travel on in life affects your destiny in the after-life.
There are 2 roads:
- The road which leads to destruction.
- The road that leads to peace and joy.
The choice is yours!
