PadkosTHE LOVE OF GOD AND THE LOVE OF A GOOD WOMAN

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. A woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

Proverbs 31:10,30

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgement: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.

1 John 4:16-19

We live in a world where there are two different kinds of love.

  1. The love a man has for a woman.
  2. The love God has for us.

It has been said, and rightly so, that love is a feeling to be learned and that we need to learn how to love. Without God in our lives the love a man has for a woman is tainted in so many ways. Hollywood and the movies together with magazines and books are largely responsible for relationships being based on what you get out of it, rather than what you put into it.

There is a very popular saying that love or marriage is 50/50.

It is give and take.

Sadly when this arrangement is put to the test it falls to pieces simply because nobody seems to stop and take stock of what you are supposed to give and what you are supposed to take. Equally bizarre is the question of what do you do with the remaining 50% after you have given your share, likewise what does your partner do with the other remaining 50%?

Do they each save it? Is it hidden away somewhere, and brought out when there is a need, or in an emergency?

Can we even begin to imagine our relationship with God if He insisted on the same criteria? How could we possibly live a Christian life under those circumstances? Imagine if you will, Jesus demanding from us our share of saving grace. Where would we get this from? We simply could not do it!

We love God because He first loved us. In Him our love is made perfect. When we realise what Jesus did for us on the Cross of Calvary we cannot help but fall in love with Him.

He did not hold back 50% and then demand our share.

He gave 100% and simply asked us to believe in Him.

Oh the Love that drew Salvation’s plan,

Oh the love that brought it down to man.

There is no fear in love, because perfect love casts out fear.

It was perfect love that put Jesus on the Cross of Calvary and it is a foolish person who does not fear living without God.

Are you living outside of God’s love? If so you can enter into a relationship with the One and only true source of Love, and learn how to love others as He intended you to do so.

Happy Birthday!
