THE TIME IS AT HAND

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John: Who bare record of the Word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Revelation 1:1-3

The Apostle John was commanded to write what he did in the Book of Revelation and I can think of no better way of expressing what this book is all about than the way William MacDonald puts it:

This book is unique, in that its very title Apokalupsis in the original, means unveiling which is the origin of our word apocalyptic. It refers to the prophetic visions of the future that use symbols and figures. The Book of Revelation looks forward to the future conclusion of all things and the eventual triumph of God and the Lamb. The Book of Revelation has also been described as the Grand Central Station of the whole Bible because it is here that the ‘trains’ come in. The trains of thought from the beginning to the end. The trains of thought from Genesis to the final unveiling. It tells how everything is going to pan out in the end.

There is no doubt whatsoever that even a casual reading of the Book of Revelation is somewhat frightening and a stern warning to unbelievers to repent and to ask Jesus into their lives before it is too  late, and yet an encouragement to believers to persevere!

I cannot help but consider modern day scientists and researchers who deny the existence of a Creator and who have been so successful in forcing their views into the curricula of Schools, Colleges and Universities across this land of ours and poisoning the minds of countless millions along the way, for they have lived by faith in the power of reason, little realising that the story will end like a terrible dream, because he has scaled the mountains of ignorance and just as he is about to conquer the highest peak and pull himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries.

(Robert Jastrow)

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
