ASK FOR THE OLD PATHS

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

John 10:27

There are many Christians who have wandered from the protective arms of the Shepherd. In the beginning they heard the voice of the Shepherd and followed Him, but as time wore on some have gone outside of the enclosure and nibbled on the new shoots that looked so good and so inviting.

Even though the Good Shepherd has led them to good, wholesome pastures which gave them new life: The desire for something that looks and tastes better, has led them to stray, giving heed to seducing doctrines which  appear pleasant to the eyes and desirable to the flesh but in reality have the opposite effect on the Christian’s standing, walk and relationship with the Saviour.

Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein and ye shall find rest for your souls.

Jeremiah 6:16

If only we realised how useless sinful man is in the sight of a Holy God and that we are totally empty without His saving Grace.

I am the good Shepherd: the good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep. I am the good Shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

John 10:11,14
