THE GREAT EVIL OF OUR DAY

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they shall believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. KJV |
And all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. NIV |
The great evil of our day is that men are taught, and want to believe, that sin is not sin, that hell is not hell, and that God is not God.
The media perpetuate this falsehood. The education system, whose curriculums are set by atheists and humanists in schools, universities and correspondence courses, spread the lie as do secret societies, open societies, religious cults and sects, that sin is not sin, that death is not death and that hell is not hell, and that judgment is not judgment.
Our verses under consideration today, however, tell a different story because in them we read that the most frightening thing of all is going to happen in the end: When God Himself cooperates in the process.
When men and women openly and defiantly indulge in sinning and actively shut God out of their lives, they will find that God accedes to their requests to be left alone and He does exactly what they ask. The Scriptures tell us that they perish because they refused to love the truth and be saved. And for this reason, God sends them a powerful delusion that they will believe the lie so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

These words of Scripture will come home to haunt those with a vengeance who do not receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, whilst there is still time. The Bible warns us that there is coming a time when those who are left behind will receive another and will worship this person instead of the One who laid down His life for them.
The consequences of doing so are dire indeed and NOBODY will be able to say they were not warned! My prayer is that you will receive Jesus into your life now, whilst there is still time.
