HIS WAY

Jeremiah 6:16

Thus says the Lord: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” But you said, “We will not walk in it.” KJV

This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” But you said, “We will not walk in it.” NIV

Our verse today tells us what God wants us to do and that is because it is decision time! We stand at the Crossroads of life and it’s time to decide.

  •   Who do we believe?
  • I have reached the crossroads in my life;
  • which way am I supposed to go?
  •  Do we want rest for our souls?
  •  Are we unsure of the future?

The Lord tells us to:

·     STAND at the crossroads and LOOK. ·     ASK for the ancient paths.
·     ASK where the good way is. ·     And WALK in it.

The result of obeying what the Lord tells us to do is:

  • You WILL find rest for your Soul.

Oh, the simplicity of the ways of the Lord. They are not rejected because of their DIFFICULTY; they are rejected because of their DEMANDS:

·     STAND ·     LOOK ·     ASK ·     WALK ·     FIND

The will of men and women stands in the way of finding rest and peace.
Have a look at the last part of our verse under consideration and read what it says:
But YOU said that you WILL NOT walk in it.

Can you believe that there are people who have made their minds up not to listen, not to obey, not to even consider what the Lord is saying?
Can you imagine what they will be thinking when they come face to face with Jesus Christ, knowing that they ignored His words?
Sadly, by then it will be too late. There will be no turning back. Our lives are so short, we have so little time to ask for the ancient paths and to decide for the Saviour and to find Him.
Finding is certain if the others have been obeyed.
