CONSIDER HIM

CONSIDER HIM

In His humiliation His judgment was taken away: and who shall declare His generation? for His life is taken from the earth.

Acts 8:33

From the Scriptures we read that:

In His humiliation justice was denied Him.

The judge of all the earth was denied justice on earth, is a phrase that will come to the minds of every person that has ever lived when the day comes that we see Him face to face.

Who shall declare His generation?

The Amplified Bible puts it this way:

Who can describe or relate in full the wickedness of His contemporaries?

So much for the crown, for the courts and for the crowds of His day. Sadly though, their conduct reaches every single one of us and still stands against every single one of us, until we have by personal judgment reversed their verdict of Christ.

  • What is my decision?
  • How do I treat Him today?
  • What do I think of Him?

The answers to these questions can be as varied as the number of people giving them; for they are not just mental judgments; they reach the emotions, the conscience and the character, and in the end will determine everything! John Oxenham has put it this way:

What think ye of Christ? is the test,

To try both your goal and your scheme.

You cannot be right in the rest,

Unless you think rightly of Him.

What a contrast as we go from the demonic sentencing of the Court, to the Divine SAYINGS OF THE CROSS.

  1. Father forgive them for they know not what they do.
  2. Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?
  3. Verily verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
  4. Woman behold thy son!
  5. I thirst.
  6. Father into Thy hands I commend my Spirit.
  7. It is finished!

Everything about the Saviour was and is unique.

  • Never man was foretold like this Man.
  • Never man was born like this Man.
  • Never man lived like this Man.
  • Never man died like this Man.
  • Never man walked like this Man.
  •  Never man worked like this Man.
  • Never man loved like this Man.
  • Never man gave like this Man.
  • Never man rose like this Man.
  • Never man empowered like this Man.

His glory, His goodness, His greatness and His grace cannot be exaggerated in our minds or by our language. All superlatives fall far short of doing Him honour. He is beyond us as light is beyond darkness. His beauty has no comparison among the hosts of heaven, how much less does it have among the children of men.

  • He has made everything beautiful in His time.
  • He is altogether lovely all of the time.
  • All other beauty is borrowed from Him.
  • His beauty is His own.
  • It is intrinsic.
  • It is inherent.
  • It is genuine.
  • He gives to all.
  • He is Love.
  • He receives from none, for none possesses anything that means anything that can be given.

Make much of Him, for the more you make of Him the more He will make of you. And by His wonderful Grace, you and I who were nothing, had nothing and could do nothing about it, will become something in His wonderful hands. The hands which are scarred with the nail prints of our making.
