SCRIPTURE – SO PLAIN AND SIMPLE
God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the Light, as He is in the Light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. 1 John 1:5-10
The world is not capable of providing true and lasting peace and joy for the human heart. This can only come from a proper relationship with the Author of peace and true joy, and unless we own up to it and admit it, we will fall far short of the fellowship which God intended for His people and we will remain, at best, nominal Christians.
These verses start off with plain and simple language and plain and simple Scriptures, which trip up even the most hardened mind.
-
If we say we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness: we lie! Simple as that!
-
If we say we have no sin: we deceive ourselves! Simple as that!
-
If we say we have not sinned: We make Jesus a liar! Simple as that!
When a person is in true fellowship with God, there is a deep seated joy, peace and rock steadiness that cannot and should not be disturbed or shaken by worldly circumstances.
The word Fellowship means that two or more persons share things in common, much like a partnership, and this partnership begins with the fact that your partner, God, is Light and in Him there is no darkness, AT ALL!
So working on that basis, you cannot even begin to think that you will have any fellowship with God, at all, if you walk in darkness. Light and darkness cannot exist in a person’s life at the same time. The plain and simple language will now surface again (so we will have no excuse) telling us with all boldness that:
If we walk in the Light, as He is in the Light, we will have fellowship with Him.
AND what’s more:
The Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin!
What more can we ask for?
Who can compare?
May God the Father help you grow in Grace and in the knowledge of our Saviour Jesus Christ and that you will determine in your heart and mind to live a life which is pleasing to Him.
